The Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton began their partnership with PEHA in 2023. The Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton is a 136-bed facility that features five operating theatres and a wide range of specialised clinical services.

Details

Conditions that are treatable at Mater Rockhampton Emergency Care Centre: 

  • Urinary problems and infections 
  • Skin problems 
  • Injuries: Broken bones, sprains, wounds and burns.  
  • Chest and Abdominal Pain: Investigation and assessment of non-critical cases.  
  • Breathing difficulties and respiratory infections 
  • Paediatric Care:  We are able to care for most simple paediatric ailments, including the treatment of minor injuries, including cuts, sprains, and fractures. However, specialist paediatric services are not available. 

Parking is offered at Ward Street Car Park and is accessible via Spencer Street and Jessie Street. Public parking is available in adjacent streets.

Dr. Muhammad Umer Ihsan, MBBS, MD, FACEM, CCPU, AFRACMA, is the Site Director at the Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton Emergency Care Centre. With over 17 years of clinical and academic experience across Pakistan, the UK, USA, and Australia, he is a certified emergency physician and educator with a special focus on ultrasound and simulation-based training. He has held leadership roles in emergency medicine education, developed curricula, and authored training tools aligned with ACEM standards. Dr. Ihsan is also an ultrasound fellowship supervisor and a pioneer in medical simulation software development aimed at enhancing clinical decision-making and education.

With a strong background in both hospital and private practice settings, Krystal is skilled in scheduling, staff training, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Her expertise spans multiple healthcare software systems and administrative functions. Known for her reliability, leadership, and excellent customer service, Krystal is committed to fostering collaborative work environments and delivering exceptional patient experiences.

PEHA partnered with the Friendly Society Private Hospital in 2018. The Friendlies is a well-established 142-bed surgical and medical facility that has been serving the Bundaberg community for over 100 years. The hospital offers cardiology, oncology, day surgery, general surgery and orthopaedics services.
