Your health is our priority: Fast, patient-centred emergency care.

When you visit a PEHA-partnered emergency department, you’ll be seen by experienced staff who understand timely, thorough medical attention is essential. We keep our wait times short, our fees transparent, and our commitment to continuity of care paramount.

Why PEHA?

We’re here to make your emergency experience as stress-free as possible, from quick triage to follow-up support. When you choose a PEHA-partnered ED, you benefit from:

  • Minimal wait times: Our efficient processes help you see a specialist sooner — usually within 30 minutes.
  • Expert care: Our team includes highly trained emergency doctors and nurses ready to treat both common and complex conditions.
  • Transparent fees: We’ll clearly explain your out-of-pocket costs, including any coverage through DVA or WorkCover.
  • Continuity of care: We work with your GP and provide discharge letters to ensure you have support beyond the ED.
  • Commitment to comfort: Every decision we make is patient-centred, aiming to reduce anxiety and deliver the utmost care every step of the way.
  • No private health insurance required: Our team will treat all patients, not just those with private health insurance. However, a fee for this treatment will apply.

How can we help?

  • You won’t face an out-of-pocket ED fee if you have a valid WorkCover claim number.
  • For more information, ask our staff for a  WorkCover information sheet.

  • There are no out-of-pocket fees for DVA Gold Card Holders.
  • DVA White Card holders may be eligible based on their condition with DVA approval.
  • ADF members are billed according to the Bupa Health Services ADF Provider Agreement. If you have a valid Defence Referral Form and Defence Approval Number, we’ll invoice BUPA directly.

  • We accept patients without Medicare coverage; fees vary accordingly.
  • Payment is due at the time of service, with invoices available for insurance reimbursement.
  • Contact your overseas insurer for details about coverage and eligibility.

  • Radiology (x-rays) and pathology services are available at all of our sites and are provided by an external organisation.
  • The fees for these services are separate from the ED attendance fee, and you’ll receive invoices directly from these providers.
  • After-hours call-out fees may apply. Typically, results are available within 24–48 hours.

  • Items like moon boots, crutches, splints, or dressings are sold for outpatient care.
  • There are no returns or refunds on consumables.
  • Costs will be clearly outlined at the time of purchase. Payment is required on discharge from the ED.

Continuing your care.

Our commitment to your well-being goes beyond your time in the ED.

  • If you need follow-up care for the same condition within your designated review period, there’s no attendance fee.
  • Should new symptoms arise or if you return after that timeframe, standard ED fees apply.
  • For non-emergency follow-ups, please see your GP—we provide a discharge letter before you leave to ensure a smooth handover.
